Stage One: Pool construction Layout
The florida pool construction process begins with precise planning. Our team uses stakes, string lines, and measuring tape to outline the engineered pool design in your yard. This step typically happens 1-2 days before excavation begins, ensuring everything is perfectly mapped out.
Stage Two: Excavation
Once the layout is finalized, we begin the excavation. Depending on yard access, we use a mini, small, or large machine to dig the pool according to the engineered plans. Some of the excavated dirt is left on-site to backfill around the pool later, ensuring a clean and secure installation.
Stage Three: Form Work
Next, we shape the pool using wood forms and leveling tools. These forms serve as the framework for your pool’s design, are covered with Steel Tex to further shape, and reinforce the pool walls.
Stage Four: Steel Rebar Reinforcement
Once the forms are set, we install steel rebar to reinforce the pool structure. This crucial step provides durability and ensures long-term strength. After this, we complete three inspections—checking the main drain, steel reinforcement, and steel bonding—before moving forward.
Stage Five: Shotcrete Application
With inspections passed, we move on to the shotcrete stage. This is where the pool really starts to take shape. Shotcrete is applied to the entire pool, covering the beam, steps, and benches, providing a solid foundation for your pool’s structure.
Stage Six: Shell Backfill
After the shotcrete has dried, we strip the forms and backfill the pool. Using the dirt left on-site, we fill and compact the area around the pool’s perimeter to ensure stability and support for the pool shell.
Stage Seven: Plumbing
Now that the pool shell is complete, we begin installing the plumbing. Trenches are dug, and pipes are laid, connecting to the designated equipment location. During this stage, we complete inspections for the perimeter plumbing and underground electrical components. Once approved, we backfill and compact the soil again, ensuring a seamless connection between the pool and its systems.
Stage Eight: Coping and Tile Installation
At this stage, your pool’s aesthetic truly begins to shine. We install the coping and waterline tile, both of which offer nearly endless customization options. Whether you’re looking for sleek modern finishes or more traditional designs, we have hundreds of tile and coping options to suit your style.
Stage Nine: Decking
Once the coping and tile are in place, we move on to the deck. Depending on the size of your deck, this process takes 2-3 days. After completion, a deck inspection is required to ensure everything is up to code.
Stage Ten: Pool Barrier
Pool safety is a top priority, and during our initial consultation, we’ll discuss your fencing options to ensure you meet local safety regulations. You have several options for barriers:
Update an Existing Fence: If you already have a fence, it may require updates to meet code, such as adjusting latch heights and installing door/window alarms.
Install a New Fence: If no fence exists, a new perimeter fence can be submitted with the pool permit, and alarms will need to be installed.
Install a Child Barrier Fence: A child barrier mesh fence is another popular option that can often replace the need for door/window alarms.
Stage Eleven: Pool Finish Application
We’re almost there! Once the pool barrier is installed and approved, we move on to the interior finish. This process usually takes just one day, and after letting the finish cure for 24 hours, we begin filling your pool with filtered water.
Completed Pool
Congratulations! Once your pool is filled, we continue to care for it over the next 30 days, maintaining and ensuring everything is functioning perfectly. During the first two weeks after completion, we’ll also schedule the final inspections, which can only be completed once the pool is filled and the pumps are running.
